Craig Swartz Issues Statement on Householder Allegations

Upper Sandusky- Today, Craig Swartz (D- Upper Sandusky), candidate for election in Ohio Senate District 26, issued a statement after the severe allegations against current House Leader Larry Householder surfaced this morning.

“Today was a sad day for the Ohio Legislature and all Ohioans. The allegations of bribery by GOP House Leader Larry Householder and others surrounding the passage of HB6 is the just the latest example of devastation to the public trust that has nearly eroded over the last couple decades.” said Swartz. “With an investigation on its way in the foreseeable future, we have a responsibility to ask questions of the leaders who pushed through this legislation.”

Bill Renieke, the current State Rep. for District 88, is a co-sponsor for HB 6, which pushes our campaign to ask further questions about Renieke’s involvement in the creation of the infamous nuclear bail-out bill. His past in receiving campaign contributions raises serious questions regarding his complacency in the culture of corruption in the Republican-run Ohio Statehouse.

“I am calling for the full repeal of HB 6 so that we can regain some of the trust our government has lost today and then work immediately on new legislation that puts Ohio’s energy needs first, and not those of corrupt politicians and their special interests. ” ended Swartz.
