On March 2, The Ohio Redistricting Commission sent the latest map to the Ohio Supreme Court for review. District 5 as currently drawn include Mercer, Van Wert, Paulding, Putnam, Henry Hancock, Seneca, Crawford, Huron, Lorain, and parts of Wood & Wyandot County.

Although the Ohio Supreme Court has declared the map drawn by the Ohio Redistricting Committee to be unconstitutional, delays by that GOP-run committee and a decision by a federal court have left no option but to use it for the 2022 election.
The 5th US Congressional District now includes all of Mercer, Van Wert, Paulding, Putnam, Henry, Hancock, Seneca, Crawford, Huron and Lorain counties, and parts of Wood & Wyandot County.
